Nicaragua Dipilto Maracaturra - €9.95 / 250g
This coffee is produced in the heart of the Dipilto mountains, near the border with Honduras. It is grown on sandy soil, at an altitude between 1200 and 1700 meters above sea level. The coffee trees are produced under shade (70% with varied species), with fertilization of the soil and plants respecting the environment.
Olman, the producer, chooses cherries harvested from the lower areas of the farm for this “washed” method, which allows him to obtain more intense coffees. A washed Maragogype prepared with low altitude cherries produces coffees that are less explosive, rounder in the cup and in which the roasting profile is more evident in the process.
The Maragogypede Buenos Aires Estate offers a clean cup for a very particular coffee with floral notes and beautiful acidity around notes of orange and peach. Its body is delicate, creamy with a nice length on the palate. We were very impressed by the quality of their coffees and hope to start a long-term relationship with these producers…
