    History of our Nyala
Before 2015 we had a Sidama Grade 2, then we evolved to a Sidama type A Q2 (83+). 2020, electroshock the regulations allowed us to access traceability information and the washing stations were able to export directly! Today we have not 1 but 3 NYALA coffees, washed and from 3 washing stations: Birbirsa Kojowa, Nibret Alamu and Nesembo in organic.

    BIRBIRSA KOJOWA
This washed Nyala coffee is produced in the Guji appellation, about 400 km south of Addis Ababa. It offers pleasant fruity notes.
The coffee offered here comes from the Kercha district. It was harvested in the vicinity of the village of Birbirsa Kojowa and washed in the station in the same village, which is managed by the exporter Guji Coffee PLC.

    • The terroir of Kercha

Kercha district is included in Guji zone and composes it with the other districts of: Odo Shakisso, Uraga, Hambela, Adola and Anassora.
This Nyala coffee is collected from small producers, in the vicinity of the village of Birbirsa Kojowa, more than 400 km south of Addis Ababa. This fine traceability is notable for a coffee from the Terroir range and is made possible, among other things, by the sourcing work of the Belco team in Ethiopia.
This coffee was washed in the village station, which is managed by Guji Coffee Export PLC. This group was created in 2006 by Girma Edema. Guji Export has been working for several years to promote Ethiopian coffee, through fine traceability and maintaining the quality of batches selected for international markets.
In the Guji area, the company works with more than 1,000 small producers. It is careful to foster an attractive working environment that encourages the younger generations of this region to continue making coffee.
