Their exceptional coffee
Immediate takeoff guaranteed
Costa Rica has only two seasons: a dry season and a rainy season, both of which provide an ideal climate for growing coffee. Throughout the year, the temperature varies only about ten degrees between 17 and 28°C (63 to 80°F). More than 80% of the most popular coffee growing areas are located between 800 and 1600 meters above sea level and the average rainfall is between 2000 and 3000 millimeters.
Heavy rains and high altitudes create ideal agricultural land and a stunning backdrop for our country. More than 70% of our coffee is grown in mountainous regions, which vary greatly in altitude. All of these factors impact the aroma, body, flavor and acidity of the coffee we produce. The soil is enriched with volcanic ash, which oxygenates the beans, giving them a richer flavor. The variety and beauty of our natural climate make Costa Rica the ideal place to live, visit and grow coffee.
“La Brûlerie du Cantin selects for you a country, a region, a plantation and above all farmers who wish to improve the quality of their coffee, which allows them to be freer in their actions. »
Instead of picking each bean from a plant at a time, they respect coffee beans for what they are: unique, individual and full of potential. Our farmers have been in this business for generations and take great pride in their growing processes. By allowing the beans to reach full maturity, they ensure that only the best flavors are associated with Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is the only country in the world where it is actually illegal to produce any type of coffee other than 100% arabica - the highest quality of coffee beans. A law was passed in 1989 to prohibit the planting of low-quality grains, encouraging Costa Rican farmers to strive for excellence.
The Tarrazu region is almost as well known for its stunning views of flowering coffee trees through a lush forest during the growing season, as for the amazing coffee it produces after harvest.
The Ywangan terroir
Coffees from the Tarrazu region of Costa Rica often have some pretty fantastic flavour profiles: floral notes, vanilla, cocoa, orange, nougat and caramel in the cup.
The coffee produced here is considered to be the best in the country, and for some, the best coffee in the world.
